Mount Pearl dojo prepares people to be ready for bullies
If you are the victim of Bullying tell someone. If you are a student of The Mt Pearl School of Martial Arts tell US. We have a complex Anti Bullying Program System 15 years in the making. No one has been teaching Anti Bullying like we have. Our program prepares our students to protect themselves through what we call our ARMED process.

Black Belt Program
Some parents have asked if we offer any accelerated junior black belt path or guarantees of a black belt. We do not and this is our rationale: Our program is tailored to today’s needs from an ancient martial art that teaches training as a way of life: body, soul, mind and heart. Like the Kenpo symbol of an open hand of friendship over the closed fist of self-defense, we offer an opportunity to learn an ancient tradition in a friendly and modern way. Children and young people are a core group in our program as youth and adults of all ages can benefit greatly from the discipline and fitness instilled by practicing in a martial art. MPSMA accepts children as youth, meaning we do not expect them to be as physically or mentally prepared as a mature, developed adult. Kids need to be kids and they will develop as adults in due course without being rushed along the path. We have chosen to offer a modern martial arts program adapted to confer knowledge and understanding of karate, grappling, jujitsu, kickboxing and self defense. The goal is to teach adults and children how to defend themselves appropriately in any situation. Our program sees each student as a member of an extended family. Different ages and capabilities advance at different rates depending on ability and efforts. We expect students to work hard for their belts so that they appreciate the reward that comes from the hard work, dedication, commitment and fitness it takes to achieve each level. The criteria is stringent for a reason. It would offer a false sense of security to award anyone, especially a young person, a senior belt such as brown or black if they cannot defend themselves in a manner appropriate to the situation. As such, there is no junior black belt or child’s black belt. There is only a black belt and that is awarded at the adult level.
