Recognize the Signs of Bullying and Take Action
Bullying can happen anywhere to anyone and at anytime. Bullying takes many forms and can include many different kinds of behavior including physical pushing, shoving, name-calling, ignoring someone and even inappropriate e-mails or chat room conversations.
We at the Mount Pearl School of Martial Arts have been addressing bulling in our program in role model situations for the past 10 years and have been even more pro-active in the past five. We try to shape behaviour in our classes to ensure your Child's best behaviour outside our Dojo.
If we can personally assist in any way please bring your concerns to one of our instructors or email me personally.

Parents who suspect their child is being bullied or is bullying someone else, should take action immediately. Tragic headlines in recent years have demonstrated the need to really tune in to children and try for an early intervention.

- Tired, has trouble sleeping, or sleeps too much
- Loss of appetite or increase in appetite
- Bruising or other signs of physical injury
- Reluctance to go to school
- Comes home from school disheveled or hungry
- Lower marks in school
- Loses possessions such as clothing or lunch
The bully:
- Aggressive
- Impulsive, intolerant
- Seeks power
- Lacks remorse
- Thinks victim deserves it
- Abuses small animals and/or siblings
- Has new possessions
